JO HEMPEL

Jo Hempel Photography started to take pictures in 1996 and continues to do so - not having been disturbed by his studies of archaeology and only slightly during his final thesis.
Aside from joining various projects, he also brought many projects to life such as "Fantastic Streets" and the "Dirt Ollies" Skateboardtour to Mongolia in 2004, which evolved from his mind.
Since 2009 he has mainly focused on photography, working for aktionspotenzial.de, various customers (see "Booking") and on a lot of his own projects.
Besides his long-lasting relationship with skateboard and travel photography, he enjoys a wide range of themes:
From documenting the final days of the cultural space "Karmanoia" in Berlin, the lookbook for the socks label "Fussvolk", the social study/art project "Shins & Cheeks", to marriages, pregnant women, conferences, and political party members.
Until 2012, his main work has been shot on analog cameras.
